And i dont think the mass hate Gregory spesifically, i think they just simply doesnt like security breach and/or are disappointed in vanny's lack of screentime. In the main game of Security Breach, Freddy practically begs Gregory to not kill the other animatronics, and Gregory proceeds to go on a remorseless Attempted Second Degree Murder Spree and then lie to Freddy's face about it.

Where the child was scared to fully open the doors or closet and even hear him sobbing sometimes and heavy breaths from running.
