Sep 27, 2019 · Pretty cool we finally have some support for androids other than Xperia, but I can't get Ps4 controller to work with either Remote play or Pstreamer. Apparently my android version is too old. Bah. Edit: Someone said gen2 controllers might work. I don't even know what a gen2 controller is. All I know is my controllers are old so prolly gen1.

THANKFULLY that Linux lawsuit taught Sony to never remove a good idea, and Remote Play has since expanded to mobile phones and personal computers. And WOW it has come a long way. Gone are the days of blurry 540p at freezing 30 fps!

Mar 14, 2023 · My PS Remote Play experience has been garbage, even when trying locally at home. Seems It always has to go through internet instead of local resulting in a terrible feed. Saw some old threads on reddit that it has to do with system being hard wired and the other device not.

May 25, 2024 · Sony's own Remote Play client is straight up not good in comparison. I'm actually astounded that Sony sells a $200 device that's all but guaranteed to perform worse than a half-decent phone running PS Play. I really thought the PS Portal would push them to improve the Remote Play experience and bridge the gap a bit more.

Nov 13, 2020 · Please do post an update. I have the PS5 Media Remote arriving tomorrow at the store for pick up and will have it canceled/returned. I also got it specifically for disc based media so it's useless without these basic functions. What a weird decision. If the PS4 remote works, I'll be looking for that instead.

All other times i always get the internet is too slow etc. Also even ways I could bypass that requirement at all. May 6, 2020 · Remote Play with my PS4 is kind of trash and barely works. Using Vita on my OG PS4 the Remote Play was okay, but still not good. Seems it's a mixed bag, though if you can wire it in, appears to do the trick. Now I have an X1X, which is beside my PS4 Pro and I use the remote play app on Windows 10 all the time and it works amazingly well.
