Jan 15, 2024 · I generally think H265 CQP 20 is a nice balance for quality and small files. But you could go down to as low as 15 for higher quality. Any lower than that and you'll be increasing files size for very little, if noticeable at all, increases in quality.

Sep 13, 2024 · CQP will already use the least amount of bitrate needed to achieve a quality level that you set. That is what the CQ value is. If you have yours set to CQ15 for example and get bitrates around 60mbps then maybe try CQ20.

Aug 22, 2024 · Looking across the internet I found tons of different recommendations with a vast arrange of values to set for CQP. Some say 15, 16, 18, etc. Even found a video saying 30 is fine. I've also seen someone say you should use higher CQP values the higher the resolution (18 - 1080p, 20 - 2K, 22 - 4K). I'm not sure how that works though.
