Officials confirmed the remains belonged to Aubrey Dameron, a member of the Cherokee Nation who went missing in 2019.

Less than a week after the remains were located, they were positively identified as belonging to Aubrey Dameron. The Marshal Service stated that the family was notified of the identification, and they extended their “sincere condolences to Aubrey’s family and friends as the past six (6) long years of searching for Aubrey has come to an end.”

The Quapaw Nation Marshal Service has identified human remains found over the weekend near Cardin as a transgender woman reported missing nearly six years ago.

Aubrey Dameron disappeared from Grove, Oklahoma, in March 2019. Remains found in January have been positively identified as belonging to her. The Quapaw Nation Marshal Service has stated that the investigation is ongoing.
