A man wanted for his involvement in a deadly shooting that happened in Southeast D.C. last year was arrested by New York/New Jersey Regional Fugitive Task Force authorities.

The Justice Department on Thursday announced a lawsuit against New York City’s so-called sanctuary city policies, days after the Trump administration blamed those policies for the shooting of an off-duty US Customs and Border Protection officer in Manhattan.

The U.S. Department of Justice is suing New York City and Mayor Eric Adams over its sanctuary city policies, according to Attorney General Pam Bondi. In a post on social media Thursday afternoon, Bondi said Adams and the city are “continuing to obstruct law enforcement” with the sanctuary city laws in place.
