An unidentified victim was hospitalized and underwent emergency surgery as the result of a shooting on Evangeline Thruway, according to police.

The Lafayette Police Department was dispatched to a shooting on Dec. 24 at 2:42 a.m. at the 100 block of NW Evangeline Thwy. According to the LPD, a victim was located with multiple gunshot wounds. The victim was stabilized on scene and transported to a local hospital by ambulance where he is undergoing surgery.
