Salvadoran national Kilmar Abrego Garcia is headed back to the U.S. to face federal charges for allegedly smuggling migrants, some linked to MS-13.

Kilmar Armando Abrego Garcia, who had been living in Maryland and legally protected from deportation, had been held in a Salvadoran prison since March 15.

The indictment alleged that Abrego Garcia made more than 100 trips transporting undocumented immigrants between Texas and Maryland, among other states.
