Jimmy Hart, Hulk Hogan's longtime manager and friend, and Jerry 'The King' Lawler discuss Hogan's pro wrestling legacy in the wake of his death.
Hogan also famously wrestled for WWE competitor World Championship Wrestling (WCW) in the 1990s, turning heel (wrestling parlance for bad guy) and becoming Hollywood Hulk Hogan as a member of the New World Order (NWO). He has also wrestled for promotions like New Japan Pro Wrestling and TNA.
Former WWE writer Vince Russo spoke about seeing Jimmy Hart on TV during Hulk Hogan's tribute segment. Several legends were on SmackDown this week.
Hulk Hogan’s tribute to open WWE SmackDown on Friday night was nothing short of a tear-jerker. The event in Cleveland was opened with loud applause and the crowd chanting “Hogan” in unison to honor the late wrestler who died at 71 years old on Thursday. Fellow wrestler Triple H led the tribute for Hogan.
Well, as Parade highlighted, Hogan claims that he tried to join the legendary rock band, Metallica, and was prepared to leave life as a wrestling icon behind to do so. “When Metallica was looking for a bass player, I called and never heard a word back from them either,” he told the Chicago Tribune in 2009.
Bubba the Love Sponge, Hulk Hogan's former best friend, discussed the professional wrestler's recent death after their complicated history.
