The wayward journey of a runaway pet zebra named Ed has come to a dramatic close. Tennessee police nabbed the zebra on Sunday, just over a week after he had first escaped his owners’ confines.
After a week full of adventures, Ed the pet zebra, is back at his Tennessee home with help from a Texas-based aviation crew. Tango 82 Aviation, based in Fredericksburg, located zebra Ed and returned him to his owner Sunday after he went missing from a new owner May 31 in Christiana,
Ed the Zebra, who was on the loose for more than a week, was captured safely after being located in a pasture in central Tennessee.
“Rutherford County Sheriff’s Office is happy to report Tango 82 aviation crews located Zebra Ed and returned him to his owner Sunday,” authorities said in a statement posted to Facebook Sunday. Accompanying the statement was a video of Ed spinning around as he was carried by helicopter to a waiting trainer.
Ed the zebra is home safe after a dramatic and highly publicized adventure through Middle Tennessee that captivated drivers and residents for more than a week.T
Rutherford County sheriff's deputies say they saw the zebra in a field and continue to track him with a drone.
