Dozens of tornados ripped through Midwestern states this weekend, causing millions of dollars in damage and multiple deaths.

NWS also reported that the Friday evening storms spawned an EF-0 tornado close to 8 p.m. in Putnam County. Its winds peaked at 85 mph, according to preliminary reports, with a max width of 20 yards and track length of 0.4 miles. No injuries or deaths were reported.

An extreme weather outbreak on May 16 spawned deadly tornadoes and storms. At least 23 were killed in Kentucky, 7 in Missouri and 2 in Virginia.

In Missouri and Kentucky alone, tornadoes killed at least 25 people, officials said. The spring storm season has been a brutal one for the region.
