Training camps are officially underway, and unfortunately, so are the injuries—this time it’s Texans running back Joe Mixon making headlines. Per NFL Network’s Ian Rapoport, Mixon is expected to miss “an extended period” as he continues to battle lingering foot and ankle issues that have plagued him throughout the offseason.

Things have gone from bad to worse for Texans running back Joe Mixon, who opened training camp on the active/non-football injury list. According to the NFL Network's Ian Rapoport on Saturday, Mixon "is expected to be out an extended period of time with a frustrating foot injury.

There's a very real chance the Houston Texans will start the 2025 season without Joe Mixon. Mixon was the leading rusher for the Texans in 2024, finishing the season with 1,016 yards and 11 touchdowns.
