Tesla Inc.’s stock is in a freefall. Its sales are plunging around the world. Even its most avid Wall Street bulls are turning cautious. But one group is buying the electric-vehicle maker’s shares like never before: CEO Elon Musk’s fans.

This is the eighth recall the stainless-clad vehicle has collected in the mere two years it’s been on the road. But unlike many of its previous offenses, this is one of the first significant body repairs that can’t be addressed with a simple over-the-air update.

The rise in trade-ins comes as Musk faces backlash for his role in dramatic cuts to the federal government through the U.S. DOGE Service.

Elon Musk said at an all-hands meeting on Tuesday evening that he "can't walk past a TV without seeing a Tesla on fire."

Molotov cocktails at Tesla showrooms. Disturbing messages on Cybertrucks. Vandalism at charging stations. A backlash against Elon Musk is taking the form of physical attacks against Tesla Inc. cars and dealerships as a growing rank of protesters is emboldened.
