On Monday the Muscatine County Board of Supervisors agreed to not allow scuba diving in county parks, aside from county rescue team training, due to possible liability.

At roughly 10,000 acres in size, the lovely Lake Pleasant is famous for its cotton-candy sunsets and bevy of activities such as scuba diving, sailing, fishing, boating, windsurfing, and beyond.

Most people don’t think of Lake Michigan as an ideal scuba diving spot, said Duane Johnson, a scuba instructor in the area. “The first question that people always ask is, ‘What’s there to see?
