Saquon Barkley's historic 2024 season put him the same category with some of the NFL's all-time great running backs. For an entirely different reason, Barkley is apparently considering following in the footsteps of several legendary backs once again.

Since winning Super Bowl LIX, and setting a new record for rushing yards in a single season including the playoffs, Barkley has gone on multiple talk shows, signed the richest contract in league history for his position, and has now teased a timeline for his retirement.

Barkley rushed for 2,005 yards on 345 carries this season for a staggering 5.8 yards per carry. 13 of those touches ended in the end zone for the MVP candidate who finished just 101 yards shy of Eric Dickerson's regular season record.
