Attorneys for the hospital said the only way Schara, 19, could have been saved was if she had been placed on a ventilator, which her parents had forbidden.

Grace Schara died at age 19 in October 2021, after being admitted to a hospital for symptoms of COVID-19. Her father filed a wrongful death lawsuit.
