Father Fermín Lasuén built La Purísima Mission on December 8, 1787, making it the 11th of 21 Spanish missions in California.
By Jan. 1, 1811, Padre Mariano Payèras of Mission ... La Placita, the plaza church in the pueblo of Los Angeles. Payèras died of an infected leg in 1823 and is buried at Purisima.
La Purisima Mission State Historic Park is located at 2295 Purisima Rd in Lompoc.
