Since the start of the pilot, the Grand Island Central School District has recorded up to 55 violations, 12 in just one day.

Starting next month, if you pass a Scotia-Glenville School District bus illegally, expect to get a ticket in the mail.

Motorists must stop at least 20 feet from the bus, whether on a two-lane road, multi-lane highway or divided highway.

The NYSDMV is urging drivers to remember to stop when they see a school bus with its light flashing and its stop arm out.
