At least 20 Palestinians died in a stampede at a Gaza aid site amid Israel’s blockade and a deepening humanitarian crisis.

The deaths were the latest in a series of incidents surrounding new aid distribution points that have been faulted for their procedures by aid experts.

Twenty Palestinians were killed Wednesday in the crush of a crowd at a food distribution site run by an Israeli-backed American organization in the Gaza Strip, the group said, the first time it has acknowledged deadly violence at its operations.
