FRISCO, Texas -- All-Pro edge rusher Micah Parsons and the Dallas Cowboys are "close enough" on his second NFL contract following his rookie deal, in the words of Jerry Jones.

It appears the Dallas Cowboys and star defensive end Micah Parsons are further apart in their contract extension negotiations than we thought, according to each sides' "wants" in the deal.

The Cowboys are taking a direct approach with their expectations for Micah Parsons. New coach Brian Schottenheimer asked Parsons to show up for the voluntary workouts at The Star because it provides leadership and allows him to spread his message.
