Kirk Herbstreit’s late dog, Ben, sits on the field before the Georgia-Alabama football game on Sept. 28 in Tuscaloosa, Ala.

With all these public appearances, fans loved Ben. Some schools even gave him his own credentials, making him an honorary part of the crew. Herbstreit has three other Golden Retrievers.
