Bangus farmers in Dagupan City are facing challenges anew due to "gataw," a phenomenon where fish struggle to survive because of low oxygen levels in the water during hot weather.

The heat is drying up some fishponds in Mangaldan, Pangasinan, forcing bangus (milkfish) farmers to use water pumps to keep their ponds from running dry.

Defiance Soil and Water Conservation Department (SWCD) will have its annual fish fingerling sale on April 22 from 3-3:30 p.m. at its office, 06879 Evansport Road.
