Bayer Leverkusen coach Xabi Alonso is under pressure to make a decision on his future as the Bundesliga club prepare for life without the Spaniard.

It is no secret that Real Madrid are eyeing Alonso as a possible replacement for Carlo Ancelotti. The Italian manager is on the hot seat after Los Blancos crashed out of the Champions League and could be fired at the end of the season if his team does not win the Copa del Rey and/or La Liga.

Bayer Leverkusen CEO Fernando Carro has admitted they have a “gentleman’s agreement” with manager Xabi Alonso regarding his potential departure. Carro has stated that the Bundesliga champions would allow Alonso to join one of the clubs he represented during his playing career.
