In Pittsburgh’s 2025 depth chart, Will Howard is the second-string quarterback, backing up starter Mason Rudolph and positioned ahead of third-string Skylar Thompson, making him the primary reserve quarterback for both training camp and the regular season and preseason games.

The Pittsburgh Steelers currently have two quarterback options on their roster. Mason Rudolph is one of them, and sixth-round rookie Will Howard is the other. As they wait for Aaron Rodgers, the Steelers can only hope to land the future Hall of Famer.
