The Supreme Court weighed in on the Trump administration's transgender military ban after a lower court's decision blocking the ban was appealed to the high court.

The Trump administration said it is moving quickly to purge the military of about 1,000 service members who have self-identified as having gender dysphoria.

The policy targets 4,240 service members who may be distressed because their gender identity differs from their sex at birth.
