While some of President-elect Trump's cabinet nominees faced sharp questioning this week, Sean Duffy received a friendly welcome in his confirmation hearing to be secretary of transportation.

Sean Duffy, President-elect Donald Trump’s nominee to lead the Transportation Department, sailed through a Senate hearing Wednesday as he received praise from both sides of the aisle during his confirmation hearing before a key panel.

Senator Toddx Young addressed Sean Duffy by saying that he was appreciative of meeting Duffy and Duffy's commitment to the Interstate 69 Ohio River Crossing Project.

President-elect Donald Trump's pick for Secretary of Transportation, Sean Duffy, is set to have his confirmation hearing on Wednesday morning.

He is really smart," attorney Michael Borden said of Transportation Secretary-nominee Sean Duffy. “He is a really quick study. Everybody likes him. And he can be very, very effective.”

The Senate Commerce Committee is tentatively planning to hold a confirmation hearing for Sean Duffy, the Department of Transportation secretary nominee, on Jan. 15, a committee aide confirmed Tuesday. Further scheduling details weren’t immediately available. Punchbowl News first reported the date.

Duffy, who formerly represented Wisconsin’s 7th Congressional District, would head the country’s department tasked with overseeing the nation’s planes, trains, highways and overall transit.
