PG&E is warning that up to 28,000 customers across several counties may need to have their power shut off for safety reasons starting Thursday because of dry and windy weather

While Pacific Gas & Electric Co. shuts off power to thousands of customers during windy conditions, the utility's CEO is talking about their long-term work to minimize service disruptions. PG&E for years now has been proactively shutting off power to customers in areas it deems at risk of wildfires.
