Kishor had been sitting on fast-unto-death at Gandhi Maidan since January 2, demanding a re-test of the Bihar Public Service Commission (BPSC) examination prelims. He was produced before a court after being detained in the early hours of Monday, and sent to judicial custody after he refused to agree to the conditions of his bail.

Prashant Kishor has been hospitalised as he was found to be suffering from dehydration on Tuesday, a day after he was arrested for an "illegal" fast unto death and then released on bail. According to a PTI report,
