The Yankees will have a former fan-favorite — and their starting shortstop from the 2021 wild-card game — back in Tampa next month.

Velazquez, 30, has played for five teams over a big league career spanning parts of six seasons. Nearly half his playing time came as a member of the Angels in 2023. Velazquez appeared in a personal-high 125 contests that year.
