SP Lok Sabha Elections 2024 Results -SP candidate Neeraj Shekhar got 220,324 votes (23.38 %) and was the runner-up.Bharat Singh defeated Neeraj Shekhar by a margin of 139,434 votes.

DMK's T Siva, A Raja, MDMK's Vaiko, Kalyan Banerjee and Mauha Moitra from TMC, NCP-SP's Supriya Sule, VCK's Thol Thirumavalavan and BJP’s Neeraj Shekhar also attended the iftar party.
