Dodgers shortstop Mookie Betts took an important step -- literally -- ahead of Sunday's series finale against the Yankees: He was able to wear closed-toed shoes for the first time since fracturing the tip of one of his left toes earlier that week.

Mookie Betts will return to the lineup on Tuesday for the Los Angeles Dodgers ' game against the New York Mets. Betts missed the last four games after stubbing his toe last Wednesday in the Dodgers' game against the Cleveland Guardians .
