Precipitation that's in the forecast early this week could help crews fighting wildfires that have been threatening a northern Manitoba city after smoke that's blanketed much of the Prairies over the weekend kept some firefighting aircraft grounded and forced the cancellation of a number of weekend events.

The Cram Fire, which has scorched over 150 square miles of land in central Oregon, is still raging more than a week after it broke out.

Fire crews are starting to get the upper hand on a wildfire in Central Oregon that exploded in size, fueled by dry conditions and hot temperatures. The Cram Fire has grown to be the largest of nearly 100 active fires in the United States.
