The Jets ran a variation of the Oklahoma Drill at practice on Saturday. A ball carrier (receiver, running back) lined up on one side. A defender (corner, safety, linebacker) on the other. On the whistle, the ball carrier’s job is to get around the defender. The defender’s job is to wrap up and square up the ball carrier.

Coach Aaron Glenn said Friday the team will often have officials at practice through the summer after the Jets, under the previous regime of coach Robert Saleh, led the NFL in penalties the last two seasons.
The New York Jets led the NFL in an undesirable category last season: Penalty yardage. And whether correlation or causation, it was the first season in a while that they hadn't used officials much at training camp. This time around, with new coach Aaron Glenn at the helm, the refs are back. ESPN's Rich Cimini reported this on Friday:

The excitement Glenn has brought to the Jets franchise is palpable. After the failed Aaron Rodgers experiment and the messy divorce from Robert Saleh five games into last season, the Jets badly needed a facelift and that goes beyond fixing up the locker room.
