Maryland was among states that saw floodwaters inundate buildings and submerge cars, as the National Weather Service issued flash flood warnings.

Heavy rain moved out Wednesday morning in the Philadelphia area and several streams and creeks are dealing with more water than normal.

Heavy rain over hilly and mountainous terrain quickly triggered serious flash flooding in parts of Maryland, Pennsylvania and West Virginia.
