According to the Los Angeles County Sheriff's Department, five people have died in the blaze that has moved through Pasadena, Altadena, and the Angeles National Forest.

The Eaton Fire that started in the foothills northeast of Los Angeles flared up Thursday morning near Mount Wilson.

The Eaton fire, which officials said had slowed as of Thursday morning, Jan. 9, has spread to Mt. Wilson, the Los Angeles County Fire Department said. Flames had reached the base of Mt. Wilson late Thursday morning,

The deadly wildfires roaring through Los Angeles County entered a fourth day on Friday. At least 10 people have been killed, about 150,000 are under mandatory evacuation orders and more than 10,000 homes and other structures have been destroyed,

Though the Palisades and Eaton fires are smaller, they rank high in structures burned. Combined, they would equal the second-most destructive California wildfire in history, with more than 9,000 structures burned, according to early Cal Fire estimates. A more detailed analysis of the total number of destroyed structures is still underway.

The Sunset Fire in the Hollywood Hills follows other blazes in the L.A. area, including the Palisades and Eaton fires, that have displaced tens of thousands.
