President Donald Trump has narrowed down his list of potential candidates to lead the Federal Reserve to four people.

Asian shares are mostly higher in muted trading after discouraging U.S. economic data pulled Wall Street stocks lower.

IST, the barometer index, the S&P BSE Sensex, added 88.79 points or 0.11% to 80,799.04. The Nifty 50 index rose 6.65 points or 0.03% to 24,654.45.
