The age of John Cena as a heel officially seems to be over. During tonight’s episode of WWE SmackDown, Cena seemingly turned babyface, in a heartfelt moment with Cody Rhodes in the ring. The show opened tonight with Cena and Rhodes facing off in the ring.

At WWE Night of Champions against CM Punk, Cena teased turning back babyface as Michael Cole noted on commentary that fans have been cheering for him despite his heelish ways and promos. At SummerSlam on Sunday, he might not fully turn, but he will do something that lets fans know the old Cena is back.

However, with Cena's face turn taking place on the blue brand, WWE missed an opportunity to pull off a double turn. Missing such a big moment is indeed a mistake by the Stamford-based promotion and shows why John Cena's babyface turn on Nick Aldis' show wasn't such a good decision.
