X-Men star Alan Cumming has revealed that he's already Nightcrawler makeup tests ahead of his role in Avengers: Doomsday, and teased that the upcoming Marvel movie will be "nuts." "I had some makeup tests already," the actor said during an appearance on TODAY with Jenna & Friends.

"It’s a game changer,” the two-time Emmy winner said of the SFX advancements since his last time playing the X-Men mutant in 2003.

Men's Nightcrawler in Avengers: Doomsday. Cumming played Kurt Wagner/Nightcrawler in 2003's X2, also known as X2: X-Men United. He didn't return for any of the following X-Men sequels; however, it was recently announced that Cumming will reprise his role in Marvel's Avengers: Doomsday.
