Melania Trump honored women with the State Department's annual award for superior courage, calling their actions "a powerful catalyst" in fighting injustice.

Since 2007, the State Department has recognized more than 200 women for "promoting peace and prosperity and human rights" around the world.

These extraordinary women illuminate the transformative power of love in shaping our world,” the first lady said during a ceremony at the State Department, which created the International Women of Courage Award.
