KoSpy, a spyware application, has been revealed to possess extensive capabilities, posing a significant threat to Android smartphone users. This malicious software can both record audio and take pictures using the device’s cameras.

A group of hackers with links to the North Korean regime uploaded Android spyware onto the Google Play app store and were able to trick some people into downloading it, according to cybersecurity firm Lookout.

Downloading bogus apps from the App Store can cause immense havoc, including (but not limited to) malware, ransomware, phishing scams, and spyware. In fact, the Zscaler report found 200 dangerous spyware apps in the Google Play Store across 12 months, with over 8 million installs.
