Chesterfield police shut down a stretch of Midlothian Turnpike on Thursday night, so first responders could investigate a suspicious package left at a fire station.

VDOT sent out an alert that all eastbound and westbound lanes of Midlothian Turnpike are closed near Route 950 (Charter Colony Parkway) for police activity.
