The Carnival season, or Mardi Gras season, officially begins on Epiphany, Jan. 6, and lasts through Fat Tuesday.

Mardi Gras comes to a close on Tuesday night, and soon, those who celebrate will exclaim “Laissez les bons temps rouler,” or “Let the good times roll” for the last time this Carnival season.

With 12th Night on Jan. 6 marking the start of Carnival, the 2025 season lasted 58 days. The 2026 season won't be quite as long, with 43 days from Jan. 6 to Fat Tuesday on Feb. 17.
