The Sedalia Chamber of Commerce made an unexpected announcement Friday, confirming the end of a popular event that attracted visitors from all over the state.

The sky was full of dozens of big, bright and colorful kites Saturday and Sunday at Kennedy Park, flown by professionals and hobbyists and patrons of all ages.
