The MTA fired back at Amtrak on Thursday after the federal rail network held a media tour of an East River tunnel to explain why it believes a full shutdown of a rail tube is necessary during a years-long repair job.

The LIRR said the issues stemmed from an Amtrak power problem in a tube of the East River Tunnel. Amtrak said crews were doing work on a line outside the East River tunnel overnight, and the repairs were not done by the morning rush.

The Long Island Rail Road warns riders to prepare for possible disruptions next week when Amtrak starts repairing the East River Tunnels. CBS News New York's Natalie Duddridge reports.
