SFD responded to more than 20 overdose incidents on nine different days between Jan. 1 and May 21 of this year, “and two days where there were over 30 overdose incidents,” the fire department said.

The U.S. saw over 1.5 million excess deaths in 2022–2023, with nearly half of deaths under age 65 deemed preventable if U.S.
