The Station Square staple of more than 20 years said late last year it would shut down at the end of its lease in February.

Friday was the last day for Station Square's Hard Rock Cafe, and while there are a lot of empty buildings, many see the chance for revitalization.

The project is expected to create 1,000 temporary construction jobs and 1,000 permanent jobs once the project is built out.
