A Treasury union president representing 150,000 federal workers urges them not to accept the Trump administration's buyouts through a “deferred resignation program” in a push to quickly reduce the government workforce.

Eligible federal workers must decide by 11:59 p.m. ET on Thursday whether to take the Trump administration’s deferred resignation offer, which will generally allow them to leave their jobs but be paid through the end of September.
