Customers were without power Monday in parts of our viewing area. The outages happened as some storms popped up in parts of the region Monday afternoon.

CHESTERTON — Power was restored around 8:10 p.m. Thursday evening after more than 8,000 NIPSCO customers briefly lost power in an outage mainly affecting Chesterton and Valparaiso residents.
