California gas prices rose last week and reached an average of $4.58 per gallon of regular fuel on Monday, up from the previous week's price of $4.42 per gallon, according to the U.S. Energy Information Administration.

The Salinas and Santa Cruz-Watsonville metropolitan areas are at $5.029 a gallon for regular gas; making it the second and third highest areas for gas in the state, according to AAA.
