Mikaela Shiffrin resumed her quest for a milestone 100th World Cup win on Thursday in Courchevel, France where she was in fifth place following the opening run of the slalom event two months after a ski crash left her with a puncture wound in her abdomen.

In her first World Cup race since November, Mikaela Shiffrin finished 10th in a slalom that will serve as a world championships tune-up.

On Nov. 30, Shiffrin crashed in a giant slalom run in Killington, Vermont, while bidding to become the first Alpine skier to reach 100 World Cup victories. She tumbled over and sustained a puncture wound seven centimeters deep into the right side of her abdomen, tearing into her external and internal oblique muscles.

Alexander Steen Olsen led a Norwegian 1-2 finish ahead of Henrik Kristoffersen in a rain-affected men’s World Cup night giant slalom Tuesday, while defending overall champion Marco Odermatt finished third.
