A record number of Texans are expected to travel over the Memorial Day holiday period, according to AAA Texas. Over 3.7 million are planning to hit the road, skies and lakes between May 22 and May 26,

AAA predicts the busiest Memorial Day holiday travel period in well over 20 years, with 45.1 million people expected to travel 50 miles or more from home later this week. Gas prices are trending a bit lower compared to 2024,

According to AAA, this year’s domestic travel forecast is an increase of 1.4 million travelers compared to last year and sets a new Memorial Day weekend record. The previous record was set back in 2005 with 44 million people.
